There are many different species of lice, but the ones that primarily affect humans, the so-called human lice, are head lice and clothing lice. The head lice prefer to stay by the hairs and the lice find their way into the folds of clothes where they lay eggs. Lice feed by sucking blood from the person they are staying on. Common to lice is that they cause itching and can spread diseases.
How to avoid them:
- Avoid close contact with others who may be affected by lice.
