MARTENS

The marten can be 35 to 58 cm long, the tail not included. It is dark brown in color with a light bib. In Sweden, marten occurs in most forests except on Gotland. Although martens are good at climbing, they prefer to stay at ground level and are most active at night. They eat rodents, hares, bird eggs, insects and berries but can also eat ashes for lack of food. They can cause problems for us humans when they build nests in our houses, often in attics.

How to avoid them:

  • Nett cracks in your house.

Suitable treatments: hire protection hunters in case of problems.
